Im 40+1 today

had DD at 40+1 last time

I also had a show 98 hours before she was born..... I have had nothing at all this time...

do you always have a show? can you have them much closer with the second? or not at all?

I was certain i would have baby by now but clearly i havent yet!

I only had mine go when I was just about into active labour with DD, think it's one of those things like waters breaking that can happen at various points but don't actually tell you where you're up to iyswim.

I had a show about 3 days before dd1 was born & just before labour started. I don't recall anything resembling a show with dd2!

I didn't even realise I was having one. Had DD2 3 days ago and midwifes were adamant i wasn't in labour even though I was rolling around on the floor in pain (drama queen Wink)

I was bleeding and they said it was just from the examination and that i should go home. I refused to leave and 3 hours later she was born.

As soon as you feel that awful awful awful (sorry!) pain, get into hospital and get ready Smile

Good luck Thanks

Had a very obvious show a week before ds1 and no show at all with ds2.

With first had a show whilst in labour - had been having cx on and off for about 12 hrs.

With second don't remember anything like a show, but labour much quicker (6hrs from first twinge to babe in arms)

The midwife told me that i had just had my show whilst in labour with dd1, didnt notice anything with dd2 (guessing it went in labour due to early induction) but i did see dd3s show 4 days before labour just after a sweep.

LifeOfPee · 23/06/2013 22:13

With my first the m/w removed my show when she broke my membranes.

With my second I had a sweep and had blobs of show for a few days but no baby. Had another sweep and then had more blobs of show before finally having the baby 24 hours later.

Each pregnancy, labour, birth and baby is different. You'll get your baby one way or the other and sooner or later. It won't change its mind and not come out Grin

Best of luck Smile
