Hi girls
Just looking for some hope really!!
I am now 1 week overdue. Ive taken rasp leaf tea for 3 weeks, having regular nookie, walking dogs twice a day and eating all the pineapple and curry my poor stomach can take. Had my show 3 days ago and contractions every 15 mins last night for about 8 hours which have totally gone now. Had 2 attempts at a sweep (one this mornjng) but both failed as my cervix is long and posterior and only 1cm dilated.
I'm now being told ill likely need induced on Saturday which I'm gutted about. Obviously I just want a healthy baby but this is the biggest anticlimax to a pretty brilliant pregnancy.
Just wondering if anyone else was told they needed induced but laboured themselves?? Is there anything i can do to help my cervix 'present'?? Currently bouncing on my ball in sheer desperation to do something! Aaaa the stress!!!

I got told I would be induced (cervix 1cm, long and posterior like yours) and DC came 4 hours later, so don't despair yet! It sounds like all the right signs are there.

Keep bouncing on the ball. Oh and weirdly my contractions only started in earnest after I'd done all the weird housework jobs I was worried about (and would never normally do). Maybe just coincidence but I remember thinking 'I can have my baby now' and she came that day.

Good luck!

Why do you need to be induced on Saturday when you won't be 14 days post dates (not 'overdue' mind - normal gestation is 37 to 42 weeks) until the following Tuesday?

I personally would decline an induction over the weekend when there are fewer experienced doctors available, particularly if other hospitals would be fine and dandy to leave it til Monday or Tuesday.

In any case it's probably all academic as quids in you'll have had your baby by Friday.

I tried everything bar 'doing the deed' with DH and I swear the 2hour walk with DM got my labour kicked started!

Minifingers, they're not letting me wait longer than sat as baby isn't growing well anymore and approx only 4 ounces heavier than 2 weeks ago.
So hoping these contractions start back up! X
