Bleeding started again, 3weeks post partum...

Had dd4 25 days ago, lochia had tailed off and stopped as usual by middle of week 2. Last week I had a bit of spotting one day but thought nothing of it. However, by Sunday I had started bleeding again and it has got heavier. Definitely not sex related as DH away with work! And I didn't get my periods back until after 9 months with the other 3 as they are all exclusively bf. This baby is the same, still feeding at night etc so surely can't be that? Should I be worried or is this just one of those things?

My baby is 11 weeks now and exclusively bf. I had spotting when she was around 7 weeks and 9 weeks but im not sure either. Thought I wasn't supposed to have anything for a good few months?

Spoke to the nurse practitioner yesterday who said highly unlikely to be period return as it is just too early and because of breastfeeding including night feeds. She suggested that I've just over done it a bit, which can cause bleeding to restart... with 4 children that sounded like a logical explanation to me! And that lochia can start and stop, even if that hasn't been my experience in the past.

I always had bleeding for about four weeks and then a break for a week then period started on 5 week with all three of mine and all EBF. Not fair.
