Feeling a bit sad

Hi all

I have been told that I will be induced up to three weeks early this time following a complicated pregnancy and labour last time (gestational diabetes, being induced on my due date, him having shoulder dystocia at the second stage, severe blood loss and having to have the placenta removed under general as some scoliosis meant I couldn't have a spinal). I get that this is probably the most sensible thing to do (and hopefully I wont have to have a CS) but am a bit sad that what I would have wanted originally (water birth, midwife led birth centre etc) probably won't ever happen.

I will have my doula and husband with me and we'll do what we can to make this a good experience. I think I probably just need to stop reading Spiritual Midwifery.

Anyway, sorry for the whinge.

i was induced with ds because my waters broke so i was constantly monitored and had a birth far from what i had hoped or imagined. if we have another dc i would love a water birth or at least a quieter affair with perhaps a few less medical staff than last time but being totally realistic what i would want most of all is the safest birth possible for dc and me.
i am sorry you won't get what you had hoped for, but you have so much to look forward to; new born cuddles are the best!

That's true, thanks. I know not everyone gets what they hope for.
