Its a worrying thing to say, my GP said this when I had stitches which I had problems with after an episiotomy and it made me cringe. I think she means its the bit between the stitches that is gaping and it should close by itself. If it is very uncomfortable could you go to the doctor and get a second opinion. My dissolvable stitches had got stuck and not come out by themselves, which didn't help. The MW had to fish them out.

I had this too....yes it 'just' means your stitches have split. Only problem was I took weeks to heal (my gape was quite large) so was in pain / discomfort for a lot longer than I should have been Hmm All fine in the bed dept since and am PG again and had no issues so far Smile
