second c section - what do they do?

i had an ELCS 3 years ago for a breech baby, and so far this baby is also breech so another CS is looking increasingly likely. i am hoping imagining that second time around is much the same as the first? does anyone know, do you get another scar or do they go through the original one? i was very lucky in that i healed quite well and had no problems with infection etc and you can hardly see the scar now. i am a bit worried about the after effects of a possible second section - on my recovery, as well as (rather shallowly) my body.

i had quite a 'good' experience with the first section as my CMW attended with me and made sure that i had skin to skin straightaway - battling the cow of a theatre midwife who was insisting on taking the baby away to get them cleaned, dressed etc. the anaethetist was also very sympathetic and encouraged a 'natural' an experience as possible. i realise that staff may have changed but is there anything i can do to ensure i have a good experience again?

i have a review and scan with the consultant next week before a final decision is made about how to get this baby out. is there anything i should ask, or make sure is included on my notes?

TIA

I have had two c sections they went through the original scar it was difficult as the scar tissue had healed too well but did get through in the end. You will be fine and I found because I new the pain from c section first time round I healed quicker as was up and about walking straight after the epidural had warn off. Midwife was telling me off for not resting and was watching me like a hawk that I didn't go too far Lol. But I didn't wanna seize up with pain. Best thing I could of gone was to keep active.

"it was difficult as the scar tissue had healed too well but did get through in the end" gosh that sounds awful pipsqueakz Shock.

i am pretty sure that i wasnt up until the morning after the section as i was still catheterised and whilst i dont want to be in hospital for longer than i need to, i dont want to so anything that will prevent me from healing properly IYSWIM.

i am slightly nervous as even the MW has said that not all sections are the same...

The thing is you have had a c-section before and they are aware of this. So you will be fine and in good hands. Just do what they advise. And yeah mw is right there all different but that doesn't mean different as in worse does it. At least you have an idea of what to expect from last time post op wise. Think the worst bit for me was the epidural and fact I was so ill with the pregnancy. Was glad it was done as I expect you are. But don't worry you and baby will be in safe hands :)
