Its my due date tomorrow and i had a stretch and sweep today and midwife said my waters are bulging and im 2cm dilated. What are my chances of going into labour soon?

Not sure, I'm afraid. I think baby will come when he/she comes. My sweep was very painful but didn't seem to achieve much, insofar as labour didn't turn up for another week. Friends have said theirs 'worked' though...

Mine did! But then that was with my third. I was my usual two weeks overdue and booked for an induced labour in three days time. Midwife did a lot of rummaging, announced that she had found found my cervix away round the back and had pulled it forward Shock who knew? Waters broke the next day.
You sound pretty ready. Good luck!

Mine did twice with DC2 and DC3. Both at 40+4. The 2nd sweep was given by a midwife who said "I'll do this but please don't go into labour in the next 12 hours we are heaving up there"

Mine worked - I was like you, 2-3cm dilated and waters bulging. It worked within a few hours.

Yes sweeps do work because i had my sweep on wednesday and then had my gorgeous baby boy the day next day (my due date)

Statistically yes they do but not for everyone. Google NICE induction guidelines for the figures but it's something like if for every 8 sweeps performed on women with a reasonably favourable cervix 1 woman will go into labour. N.b. I'm just remembering that from my research when DD was overdue Smile
