I'm 4 weeks postpartum tomorrow and I'm still sore down there!
I tore pretty badly during birth with labial vaginal and perineum tears.. I had to have quite a few internal and external stitches however the stitches have now dissolved and feel ok now although still a little tender..
I have been getting quite a bit of discomfort in my urethra though not when I wee or anything like that but generally it feels bruised & grazed.. Is this normal post partum ? I had to have a catheter inserted after birth because my bladder wasn't emptying it didn't stay in though it was only to drain the bladder once.. Could this have something to do with it? Please help!

I was still sore after 4 weeks too and I had one small tear with no stitches. I found wearing the big maternity pads put a lot of pressure on the whole area which in turn caused more discomfort, particularly towards the front. I would think it was normal but get it checked out if you are worried.

I felt sore for about 5 weeks - I only suffered two small grazes (no stitches needed).

If it actually hurts, rather than just being 'sore' get it checked.
