Will I poach my baby?

Started having contractions at midnight, varies around 10 minutes. Have been using a hot water bottle for pain relief but slightly concerned about baby's head getting too hot! Bottle is not boiling and wrapped in a towel. Am I just being daft?! Yes this is my first!!

I love a birth thread. First time mums are allowed to be a bit daft. A hot water bottle is fine as a mild form of pain relief. Unless you want to use TENS then a warm bath can really help as well.

Good luck with your labour and I hope everything goes well.

Thanks! It is not too bad at the moment, midwife said it will get worse and can go in for days which is something to look forward to!

Sadly no bath, only a shower!

I spent most of my pregnancy boiling myself alive in the bath, and my dd is perfectly fine :) and incidentally she loves having a bath herself, which makes my life a lot easier.

Keep us updated! Grin
