If you're dilated but not contracting regularly?

I went for a sweep yesterday and the me said i was 2cm dilated already. Have had crampy pains and the odd contraction for a few days. More today and have now had a show. If I go in tomorrow and am more dilated to the point where they'd admit will they admit me without regular contractions? Am a bit confused about what's going on.

I would say probably not, I was 3cm dilated for a day or so before I went into labour properly last time. My hospital would only admit me when contractions were every 3 mins for a min or more. In fact, bizarrely, I had 6 hours of very intense contractions at 3 min intervals and was still only 3cm when I got there!! But then progressed fairly quickly.

Ok, thanks. Didn't happen anyway, am still just 2cm nearly a week on. Ugh.
