Feeling quite excited! 39+5 and had a bloody show over the last couple of days. Haven't had any noticeable BH at all during pregnancy but have had spells of period pain. I've had short bursts of that same period pain in approximately one minute bursts every 8 mins or so since just before 1am. Am I in labour?!

After 44 hours we finally welcomed Nerea into the world at 10.30pm last night. 7lbs exactly and the image of her dad!

I had the lot! 20 hrs labour at home doing hypnobirthing then got to hospital. Had gas and air followed by pethadine. Then got in the pool. Then BP skyrocketed so had to have an epidural. Did push her out but needed ventouse and a snip. Weirdly none of that matters now - bit sore and tired but very happy! Grin

Hi new to all this (1st baby) and looking for some advice/comments from the 'pros' Smile . Was due on 23/3 then had first sweep this Tuesday, contractions started that evening @10pm 30sec every 4-5 min so stayed at home and slept through. Wednesday was stronger in the evening but still between 45-60sec and 5-10 apart. Yesterday had second sweep was told still 2-3cm. Last night from 930pm-1am had them much stronger upto 120sec yet still 4-8min apart. Getting more today that are +60sec but varying from 7-12 min apart .... what is going on?? Really confused. Booked in to be induced Sunday am but would rather a natural birth. Thanks Smile

RF, it might get more responses and help if you started your own thread?

Personally I wouldn't bother with the induction. It's clear your body is gearing up/getting ready. Baby won't stay there forever. Why not just give the poor mites the time they need?

RF1980 · 05/04/2013 14:50

Thanks I will take both pieces of your advice Smile
