Just lost mucous plug....how much longer now?

i'm 39 weeks today and just lost mucous plug this morning....decent quantity of mucous with tiny flecks of blood so pretty sure that was it. Have been having strong BHs for last few weeks at night time but no proper contractions or signs of waters breaking or leaking. Should I be preparing for imminent labour or could it still be a week or so? I have some errands to run and am now terrified that my waters wil break whilst perusing the granny pant section of m&s! Any advice or experience gratefully received! X

The only time I saw the plug come away was one Thursday afternoon. Definite contractions started on the Saturday, and DS1 appeared that evening.

Flisspaps is right baby will come when its good and ready and not before. All signs sound good though. Hope you have your bag packed and notes ready. Good luck x

BTW, your backache and period type pains are probably very early labour. So good luck, probably won't be long now.

I lost my plug at around 35 weeks with DD waters broke at 40+10 and DD born 14 hours laterGrin sorry...

My SIL had a baby girl a few weeks ago less than 24 hours after she lost her plugGrin it really is how long is a piece of string...

I lost the plug at midday on a Friday, waters broke 7pm Sunday and DS2 was born 1am Monday morning
