Hello 39 weeks and ready to pop!

Second pregnancy and it has been different to first in most ways so I am kind of expecting the labour to be different too.

My first labour was very strong period crampt pains in lower stomach.

Gp confirmed I am fully engaged this week, i have lots of pressure pain between my legs and vagina and since early evening I keep getting shooting pains up my vagina which hurts more when I walk. It also hurts more when I get the urge need to pee. It does not hurt when I pee so I know if it dod it could be a bladder infection.

What do you think, anyone else experience this kind of pains in labour?

Just wanted to see what you guys think first before I call my hospital. I have already been on the phone to them three times in thelast few days so the next time I call them I want it to be for a VERY good reason.

Thanks

I had pains as you describe towards the end of my pregnancy, but not during labour. Labour was very very strong period pains that went all the way round my body if that makes any sense!

I would guess it is just your baby laying on a nerve that causes the pains.

But i am no expert! Smile.

Good luck and hope your baby comes soon.

hello

oh yes i remember those pains alright :)
but i am wondering if this is one of those early labour signs that drag on for days before anything actually happens. with dd it started and that was it, no warning pains or anything. You do hear of people who have manageble pain for days beforehand - I hope that wont be my case!!!

Sorry just wanted to put that I was worried this pain could be related to any problems like with the placenta maybe or something similar.

It doesn't sound like slow start to labour.

I felt the pains you describe over Christmas (dd was due on the 11 Jan) but the pains convinced me i would have a christmas baby.

DD finally arrived on the 24th Jan a whole month later!!

I think i'm gently trying to say - don't get too hopeful that they are signs baby will come soon -its a mistake i made and regretted!

Of course, i hope i am very wrong and that you wake up tomorrow with full on contractions! Grin

Hi sounds like the pains are the beby headbutting your cervix which does get worse when you move cause the baby puts more pressure on it. I had this, it is the weirest thing to be headbutted down there from the inside but Im sure this is all it is. Sorry!!!!!
