Highly confusing - have my waters gone or not?!

Felt a little pop and then a trickle about 4pm this afternoon (is 7.10pm here now) but nothing since. Rang mw who said lie down for an hour and see if anything else comes out, but nothing! Surely, if they had gone, there would be something? Do have a achey lower back since though... Probably will jinx it by asking this!

I would say yes, they can do a test on you to see if it is amniotic or urine coming out I believe.....

This happenedto me, i cant remember the ins and outs but it was something to do with hind and fore waters. I was given 24 hours and nothing else happened so I had to be induced. Good luck! Smile

I think the pop sound is a positive. Could just have been the fore waters - hence a trickle. Lower back pain sounds positive - keep us informed of developments - good luck. Smile

(I thought my waters had gone - but I had just wet myself Blush)

Oooh, really want to get excited! When I rang back after the hour had passed with nothing, they said to 'wait and see'. Seeing as it is evening and we have a 3 yo ds, it makes sense not to drive into hospital. But I do so want it to be starting....

HTH and good luck if they have gone. Smile

Hotmamma, I seriously considered that, but at the time I was watching dh play football and I do very much hope pelvic floor has enough control not let me down so publicly!

No I can't remember the ins and outs either but it is something to do with hind and fore waters - they can test you at the hospital to see which it is. I had this with ds2 - got out of bed at 6am on the Thursday morning, had a pop and a gush, and went in to be checked out and they sent me home. I was having contractions, according to the monitor, but I couldn't feel a thing (so you may be too...)

My contractions proper didn't start til 3am the following morning and I had him at 9am - and they did have to break my waters - the hind or the fore, whichever it wasn't, iyswim Grin

They did tell me that if labour hadn't started 24 hours after my waters first went they would induce me because of the risk of infection - oh, and they told me not to have sex. Hahahaha.

I hope things get going for you soon, Bouj.

when mine went it was enough to wet my trousers iyswim they told me to go in and infact it was my hind waters ( usually less volume) but i had muconium in them, so since no contractions, they had to get me started... so gave me prostagladin gel. hth good luck...

Bouj, it's so disheartening isn't it when you really really want things to kick off?

With ds1 I know my waters went but when the hospital checked they said they hadn't and I was sent home feeling really embarrassed that I may have wet myself - I know I didn't though! 11 days later the same thing happened again so I went back and again they told me my waters had not gone. But I was 3 cms dilated! After ds was born they told me it could have been my hindwaters and the dipstick test wouldn't have picked this up.

Really hope things happen for you soon! Smile

Does Bouj's absence mean something is happening at last? Smile

Hi there, morning here and nothing at all.. How many false alarms can one pregnant woman take?!? Went to bed early last night, thinking I might need to sleep when I could. But, alas, woke to nothing. About to call hospital again and see if I should get checked anyway - just to make sure... Aargh, I am so having words with this kid when if finally arrives...
