OP homebirth- positive vibes please!

Baby is back to back. I am 40 weeks. I have spent 3 weeks doing weird movements etc to shift it (it was extended breech till 37 weeks anyway..) but to no avail.
Home birth is the plan but I am getting rather nervous as more and more thoughtless people tell me horror stories of back to back births.
FWIW- DC1 was a 3.5hr straightforward labour/ birth with no pain meds or intervention necessary.
Is #2 at home doable?

Baby no 1 was back to back. Was bloody awful. Didn't progress, end up stuck on back on syntocin and epidural.

However, baby no 2 was also back and a planned homebirth. Had regular contractions right away for a few hours then 19 minutes of pushing with no pain relief other than a TENS machine. It was lovely.

So it is true that some back to back labours can be awful. But its not true that all of them are. I would think being at home helped because I had more chanve to move around.

Third baby was back to back and also a home birth.
I had all my sensation in my bum / lower back, I was mobile for the whole labour approx 8 hours , and I knew when he was turning as I felt it all begin to change iykwim.
It was fine I used tens and hypnobirthing with a few whiffs of entonox at the end. Really it was doable.

I don't have entonox or TENs for a homebirth over here, it's me and my breathing So I'm trying to maintain a positive outlook but finding it v hard today. Pouring rain, insane two year old and backache conspiring to get me down
I feel I was so mentally prepared till all the back-to-back naysayers

Are you far from a hospital if you change your mind? can you play it by ear?

Yes totaly doable. My DS was Born at home, unplanned, in my bathroom delivered by DH and DH told me after he was born his face was facing up towards me ! So he was back to back and I didnt even know Oh he was number 5 DS by the way.

I could almost run to the hospital- it is 5mins max by car.
That helps my mental prep a bit

Cool - start at home, then if you need to - just go to hospital

If you can get a first baby out in 3.5 hrs, this one will be fine. However its lying. You clearly have an efficient uterus and helpful pelvis. You might need reminders to slow it down!

Good advice woodifer. Atleast you know you have the option of hospital . But do what you feel is right. Dont let the midwife bully you into going into hospital if there is no real need.

Feel like I need a little prize or something???? A week of handstands and strange movements and today the dr showed us it's moved on the scan!!! Yay yay yay!!!

Waiting till weds for a sweep as its Chinese New Year so all v quiet here till then...

I had a home birth a week ago. Baby wasn't back to back, more sideways on, and had his hand on his chin as he came out, but it was doable. More painful than my first two labours, but it was still only 9 1/2 hours from beginning to end, 14 minutes pushing.

Your body knows what to do, you'll be more relaxed as you'll be at home. You'll be fine! Fingers crossed for you that baby stays in the right position.

Born at home in 3.5hrs exactly the same as his brother
Turned to LOA in early stage of labour you could see it happen almost as stomach changed shape
