I gave birth 12 weeks ago and DP and I have been trying to get back to normal in the bedroom dept but oh my goodness, it's not pleasant! Still feels quite sore down there so I thought I'd have a look. Right where I tore, it's a bit red and inflamed, raised from the rest of the tissue. I don't know if that's normal now or whatever. Anyone with a second degree tear had a look a few weeks after everything had healed and seen something they didn't like? I don't really know what scar tissue down below should look like xx

I had a second degree tear after dd2, and it took a good while to heal.

My pelvic floor was shot to pieces and it was a nightmare.

Perseverance and a very understanding DH means that 3.5 years (and another DCs later), all is very good :)

If they stitched you hey might have stitched you up too much so you may need a Fentons op. which will correct it all. Go doctors Hun and ask. X

Booked into the doctors tomorrow :) feeling a bit odd about getting my bits out! Didn't care so much when there was a baby coming out!

i did the same thing.....made the mistake of looking in a mirror around 13 weeks after having my son.....it bloody terrified me! i did tear very badly, and it took maybe 4/5 months for sex to well...not hurt! lol. My stitches were not very 'neat' apparently, so unfortunatley it still does look a bit strange down there almost 2 years on. Butfrom what ive heard from friends etc, most of them have gone completeley back to normal within 5 months of 2nd degree tears. Hope u get it all sorted out. Not much fun having to start getting naked for random strangers after all the baby stuff is over with :p hehe.

I had a 2nd degree tear after DS, and while we resumed sex after about 7 weeks, it wasn't totally comfortable for around 6 months. I had a zigzag tear and a long graze so it took ages to heal
