Just thought I'd share and hope it reassures someone! My first labour was very textbook so I assumed that the second will be the same, so had a shock of my life when I arrived on labour ward in what everyone assumed was early labour to be told baby was back to back! ( little madam was in perfect position at the antenatal appointment 5 days early!) I heard that back to back means horrible labour, complications and tears so was pretty terrified and apprehensive.
To spare you the gory details, she was born in 37 minutes from the start of active labour, just gas and air, and a small tear that didn't need stitches. I won't say it wasn't painful- but the dreaded back pain wasn't too bad!
Hope this helps someone- you feel like all you get is horror stories when you're pregnant! :)
