My lovely easy home birth story

I just wanted to tell my story as it might offer inspiration or reassurance or something like that!! I had a planned home birth for first child. I'm 26 with a lovely enjoyable straight forward pregnsncy with some SPD towards the end. I had a 12 hr total labour, 3 hrs established. Used mainly breathing for pain relief with the help of hypnotherapy also used a tens machine and pool for the last half an hour. Even though I hoped for this birth part of me still didn't believe it was possible, but it was...good luck to all preparing for their new arrival xx

Congratulations, DD2 was also a lovely calm HB.

It's always lovely to hear of others.

Congratulations, lovely story, enjoy!

How reassuring. I hope my planned home birth goes the same way!

Congratulations.

Was definitely not easy, but I had a straightforward home birth also, my first baby, 11 weeks ago. I was in labour 30 hours (14 hours established), from my waters breaking to delivery, and it was very tough, but all went well, not even a tear. There was no feeling on earth like having your baby in your arms, then the midwives leave, and you have your own shower, your own food, your own bed, with your own baby. I think it would have been longer and likely involved intervention in hospital so am very glad i went for the home birth.

It's good to see a nice HB thread on here (regular but nc'd as possibly outed!). I try to share mine when I can, just to show that it can go well despite the someties negative press HB's get.
Mne was quick, 5 hours start to finish, lovely daughter at the end of it, curled on the couch with a brew and a painkiller!
Congratulations xx

Agree, it's great to see a positive home birth thread, in fact all positive birth threads are great to read.

I have 3 DCs and have had two lovely, calm, relaxed home births.

Congratulations OP!
