7 weeks postpartum but fresh bleeding?

Right ok I have a post-partum bleeding query. 7 weeks tomorrow since birth and I'm still bleeding a bit. I'm completely FF and haven't been breastfeeding at all (well expressing, as DS never latched) since 2.5 weeks post-partum.

For the past 2 weeks I was spotting (light brown/apricoty colour, enough for just a panty liner) but the past two days I've had slightly, just slightly heavier bleeding with fresh blood. I check internally just now and there is definitely bright red blood. Just a wee bit mixed with lots of clear discharge, if that makes sense. Had some slight aches/uterine cramps today and yesterday.

Is this anything to be worried about or is it my period coming back given that I'm FF???

I'm going to the GP on Monday for a baby checkup anyway - can I leave it till then or should I get it checked more urgently?

I had my first period 7 weeks and 2 days after my second baby. I only remember as it arrived the day of my postnatal check! Obviously if thats the case it should be period like and not excessively heavy.

I think its probably a period. They can be irregular and heavy for a few months after.
