I don't think this is early labour, but please humour me!

I've been getting some fairly painful erm, well, pains since about half past two this afternoon.

Not BH - I get those a lot, and they don't tend to hurt, just uncomfortable iykwim - these are low down and very much like period pains but stronger, and contraction-ish as well. It's hard to explain, but I went to get the kids from school anyway, and they were happening every sort of 5 minutes, not distinct, not like a build-up-to-a-peak type thing but just generally, hurting for a minute or so then going away.

I had to get out of the car as sitting in that position was extra painful. They're not getting worse, or closer together, but they are very different to what I've been getting until now - they hurt a lot more!

It's my third baby, last labour was 3 hours, so I'm just wondering - can labour pain feel like this, or would it hurt all over, not just low down?

I'm just over 36 weeks so will prob have to go in if it kicks off - planned to have baby at home so if he can hold off for another week that'd be good Xmas Smile

Thanks x

That was how my 34 week labour started... I would go in to get checked out as you are pre 37 weeks - fingers crossed it holds off!

Thankyou for replying Smile...well it eased off for several hours, but then I woke up at 10.45 in quite a lot of pain, in fact I was dreaming about how much it hurt and it woke me up!

Seemed to have a loooong contraction then without stopping, for around 10 minutes and though they are still indistinct, it's really sore, and sort of constantly there iykwim.

I don't think this can be proper labour as you get sort of 'peaks' with that don't you? Very weird.

I spoke to someone at the (wrong) hospital and she said, yes, come in to be checked over, but it's the middle of the night, children are asleep and I'm almost certain I'll be told to come home - so anyway I told her I'd call the 'right' hospital (ie the one I know how to get to Blush) but I haven't yet as I don't reckon things are really kicking orf yet. And I can't go in anyway.

Ho hum...I don't think I'll be getting much sleep tonight Smile
