sudden birth shock

Just gave birth today at term on the living room floor delivered by hubby. Im still taken back how quick it all happened. I had irreg contractions in the morning and got checked around 2pm only to find out i was only 2cm. 2hrs later im on the floor thinking im such a fanny if i cant handle 2cm! Next thing i know im crying, shacking and dribbling. Hubby called the midwife straight away and as soon as he put the phone down i shouted hes coming now. 4mins later he was born.
It was pretty scary giving birth with no midwife.

Just goes to show every labour and birth is different!

Congratulations! Hope you all have a more relaxed day today!

Willabywallaby · 08/12/2012 07:49

Congrats, I did it on the bedroom floor, thought I wasn't in enough pain when I spoke to the midwife. At least my DH works in our house.

Enjoy your new baby x

Congratulations Xmas Smile

Ds2's birth sounds much like yours, but the MW arrived just as he crowned. I remember feeling quite spacey and shocked for a few days afterwards. I wasn't worried about it, but I did keep mulling over the what ifs.

69bex69 · 08/12/2012 07:55

Thanks everyone. This was my 4th (and final) baby. They have all been so different!

Wow, well done you (and hubby!). Hope you're all doing well.

Both my dc1and2 I had on off contractions for 2 weeks, which gradually got worse.

On sat night I was 38+6 with dc3. First pain at 7.30pm, he was born at 10.40!

Shock

Congratulations on your dc4!
