Natural labour after first time induction

Looking for others who have been induced with their first baby and had a natural labour for their second...

I had to be induced at 34 weeks as I had preeclampsia and 12 hours after the insertion of one pessary my little boy was born. On top of this, I was 3cm at 1am and he was born at 3.10am. The midwives and doctors only just got all of the prem baby equipment into the room before he was out!

Just wondering if it's any indication of what will happen this time around, if I manage to go into labour naturally, or if it was because he was little and my body needed him out... I'm only 28 weeks at the moment so hopefully I've got a while before this becomes an issue!

Any experiences would be gratefully received!

DS1 - induced at +14 days. Two days later I couldn't get past 9cm so he was an EMCS.

DS2 - turned up 'naturally' at +13 days. From first contraction to birth was 4 hours! I certainly think there is some truth in the assumption that your body is quicker the second time round if you were nearly/fully dilated the first time. I can't comment on whether it was because your baby was prem/small though.

My first was induced at +14 resulting in emcs (got to 5cm first though) and DC2 came out naturally at +4 in under 8 hours all in. No one was more surprised than me. Was convinced I'd need another induction/elcs this time round!

Thanks! Good to know that they can get themselves out sometimes... Knowing my luck I'll go overdue and need inducing for a very different reason!

Any other induction tales out there?

DC 2 and 4 were inductions.
DC 1, 3 and 5 weren't.
DC2 I was induced at 37 weeks because my hind waters went.
DC4 I was induced on my due date as my hind waters went.
DC 2 is now 12 and DC 4 is 9.

Wow, myliferocks, you've done it all! How fast were your inductions compared with your labours? Probably seems like a long time ago...

My induction at 37 weeks was started on a Wednesday but didn't properly get going until the Thursday night and actual labour was 2 and 1/2 hrs.
My full term induction was 16 hours from induction to birth but actual labour was probably about 10 hours.
My three other labours were 12 hours, 10 hours and 8 hours roughly, give or take some minutes, from start to finish. I'm taking the start of labour as either when my waters broke or when looking back the pains started iyswim.
