Nottingham hospitals, City or QMC?

I am in the early stages of pregnancy with my 2nd and have my booking in appointment in a few days time. I know the midwife is going to ask me which hospital I want to use.
I had DS at the city hospital and although I couldn't fault the midwifes who cared for me during labour there where many aspects that I was not happy with, including having to wait for about 45 minutes in painful labour for a labour suite to become available due to staffing shortages and also being refused a glass of water the morning after giving birth because the nurse couldn't be bothered to go and fetch it! I have never really liked the city, especially after my Grandfather died there, but it is much closer for me and DH works just accross the road so it is very convinient for scans etc. I have heard better reports on the QMC but would be interested to hear other opinions.

I had my DS1 10months ago at QMC and can't speak highly enough of it. Midwife was great, I got touse the birthing pool for early labour. I stayed two nights on the antenatal ward and again the staff were very good & helpful (although I had a terrible snoring woman sharing the ward with me the first night after I gave birth...not what I needed!)
Oh, and they are all trained in aromatherapy which sounds a bit strange but it really helped with my episiotomy so give it a go! In short, I thought QMC was great.
