Painful braxton hicks ?

38 weeks today
Been have a few on/off tightenings like braxton hicks, when i get BH i get a period pain type of ache and feel a lot of pressure down below.
Is this normal?

36wks here. Sounds about right. I've had them wake me up in the night. They felt low down, like period cramps. I did panic and think it was all starting early but think they're just practice runs. I'm pretty sure you can take paracetamol if they're unbearable.
It prompted me to get my bag packed asap!
