Overdue appointment at hospital. Will they keep me there?

If I reach it, I've got an appointment for 6 days after my due date to discuss induction/c- section. Should I be taking my hospital bag or do they generally send you home again?

no they'd send you home again unless there was a problem like protein/bp etc.

Unless you are in labour (and didn't know) or they find something "bad" then you should expect to go home.

TearsBeforeBedtime · 20/03/2006 20:59

I don't think they would keep you there unless there was any urgent reason you had to deliver asap.

cece · 20/03/2006 20:59

No they don't normally induce till 14 days over (at least in my hospital) unless there is a medical reason for doing it earlier.

At mine they did a sweep to try & kickstart things, and as I was on my own had to stagger back to car! Beware! (although I was given the choice of course)

Yes I had sweep on that appointment too. Was quite nice as M/w said it would prob. do the job, so DH and I went off and had a lovely meal to celebrate the last hours of being 'just the two of us'. Waters broke as I put down my pudding spoon!

O.K. Will beware of sweeps. Good to hear that you generally don't stay. Thanks.

Spots, did your waters break in a restaurant, then, or was it a nice meal at home?

you jammy nowt spots Envy - I had to wait another 6 days after the 41 wk sweep before labour started.

Ponka, you won't have to stay after the appt - they'll give you an appt to come back for induction.
