Birthing centres, private hospitals - how?

How do you go about looking for alternatives for NHS hospitals?
Didnt like the NHS hospital where I had my ds. So when considering my 2nd baby would like to research my alternatives a bit better. where do I start?

check out birth centres as well, as they are (mostly) NHS run but differently organised.

Or go for a home birth...that's what I did
