Would just like to say that Stoke Mandeville Hospital has the most amazing staff :)

Everyone has been so lovely, so professional, kind and just simply good at what they do! They are over-run with patients atm yet still always lovely, find the time to help you, and have made the whole thing the best experience it could be in the circumstances. I would recommend having a baby here - but would say that perhaps September is slightly too popular a month lol!

So lovely to see someone praising the NHS.

I come from a family of NHS workers. DF is a surgeon, DM is a pharmacist. DSIS is an anaesthetist and DBIL is a GP.

Yes they get paid well - but fuck me do they work hard.

I had a shitto time when I had DS1 - but that was purely down to lack of staffing/funding. The midwives were overstretched.

Having DS2 was a dream.

When DS2 was hospitalised with a life-threatening condition the NHS were amaxing. They saved his life. I will be eternally greatful to them.

The professional moaners on here have no idea how lucky we are to live in this country and have access to the services that we do.

Try living in Tanzania...........

I've given birth there too and agree it's a great place. Felt well looked after throughout

Totally agree OP, I hadn't even been there before as DS was early and we were booked for a home birth!
I had a great experience there, but have wondered if perhaps that had something to do with not having any expectations. Some of my NCT group were less than complimentary, the way they talked about it s if they'd been to a completely different hospital. Confused
