Could this be early labour?

Hi all,
Just wondering if I might be in early labour, as I was induced with my dd and didn't experience any of this!
I am 40 + 9 and since I woke up at 9am have been having tightenings where my whole bump goes rock hard for about 30 seconds. These come roughly every 8-10 minutes but are not painful at all, just a bit uncomfortable. Also confused as i thought i'd have back ache if it was labour?
Any thoughts?! Thanks!

I didn't get backache.

Could be it!

Ooooh! Could be - keep us posted. How do you feel otherwise?

I feel fine! Really hoping this isn't braxton hicks, i don't want to be induced again so fingers crossed this is labour. I thought the intensity/frequency would of increased in nearly 7 hours though.

My second labour started a bit like that. Well, waters went, but then nothing else until the tightenings you describe. After a couple of hours, I got period type pains with them. When I was checked at hospital, I was already 4cm, contracting every two mins, but no real pain (at that stageWink).
