Due yesterday. I've been awake since 2am with tightenings and cramps about every 5 min. No show or plug though. I took paracetamol at 2am and have lain in bed playing on my phone since.

Should I call the hospital or wait till there are more signs?

Yey good luck my dear !

I waited till I was pacing the floor in agony before I called the hospital but only because I didn't want to go in sooner than I had to.

If it makes you feel better, give them a ring, and they'll have a chat to you but its unlikely they'll let you come in just yet.

exciting Grin call the hospital and see what they say

good luck Smile

fluffacloud · 06/09/2012 05:01

Don't wait for signs - if your tightenings are getting stronger or more frequent then call the delivery line.

I didn't have a show, waters didn't break etc with either of my two DC's.

If I were you I'd have a bath and something light to eat if you can manage it.

Good luck and keep us updated Grin

Still the same in intensity and duration. They last about 30 sec and 5 min in between. I am going to go and eat some cereal then run a bath.

Excited and scared! Grin

Baby star (a girl) born at 20:05 weighing 8lbs. Baby doing really well. She is gorgeous!

I'm feeling really fragile. Significant tearing. Muscle, vaginal wall and skin. Many, many stitches. I've been given paracetamol and and an ice pack. Any advice wise MN peeps?

KentuckyFriedChildren · 07/09/2012 02:45

:o well done! Advice- rest! And be super careful when going to the toilet. Oh and enjoy the snuffly noises. They don't do them for too long and you will miss it :o

justabigdisco · 07/09/2012 02:46

Get some tea tree oil from the chemist (well, send DP out for it) and put a few drops in your bath. Worked a treat for me when I had episiotomy/stitches.
Congratulations!!

Salhal · 07/09/2012 02:48

Congratulations! Ask for stronger pain killers if you think you need them. Enjoy your little one.

lljkk · 07/09/2012 04:07

pamper yourself, you deserve it :).

Hyperballad · 07/09/2012 04:17

Congratulations!!

Advice, rest rest rest, get someone else DP or DM to do all the running about while you cuddle up to your babe.

Flosie1989 · 07/09/2012 06:25

Massive congratulations! I tore badly too and I found sitting on lots of pillows helped and when you get home take lots of short warm baths. Also ask the hospital for diclofenac it's a much stronger painkiller Smile

Enjoy your new lovely bundle Grin

BoysBoysBoysAndMe · 07/09/2012 06:27

Congratulations!!GrinGrin

Well done.

When I had my epiostomy/stitches I had the biggest sanitary towel known to man and boy boxer style knickers. Wear a nightie instead if pants if possible too.

Lots of paracetamol and rest.

Congratulations

fluffacloud · 07/09/2012 07:09

Drink plenty and if you need to/can touch your toes when you have a wee to prevent it stinging.

Get as much sleep as you can and enjoy! There's nothing quite like the wonder of a brand new baby.

Congratulations Thanks

MrsHoolie · 07/09/2012 12:48

Oh and wear 2 pairs of knickers, helps to hold the two sanitary towels in place, you feel less like your wearing a nappy that way! X
