Back ache and mucus show...how soon?

1st baby, 39+3 woke at 5 with lower back pain and progressed to period type pains all morning. Just had a brown tinged mucus show, does this mean baby will come today?

How long could it be before proper contractions? I sent my husband to work but now thinking I should get him back.

It does sound feasible that baby is on their way (mucus plug on its own has no meaning realy, but coupled with the backache I'd say it was imminent)

I would wait for now and see how it goes. It could only take a few hours to start proper, or it could take all day. Rest up, eat well and keep your fluids up. Try not to rush about "nesting" even if you get the urge, you're better conserving your energy

Good luck!!

Hey how are you feeling??

I lost my mucous plug in the afternoon on 16 march and had very mild period like cramps. As mild as i would just ignore. Stronger period like cramps started on 18 march at night. And became more regular. I guess cramps is one thing but cramps at regular intervals and staying on for 30 secs at least would be a better sign of you going into labour. But even after this, i went to the hospital on 19 march at night. So 24 hours i was at home with bearable regular cramps. They were more than half an hour apart and i was eating talking all this time. Once i went into the hospital, my cramps were more close together and progressively longer. So in my case the mucous plug didnt say much. Though my hubby managed work from home on all those days.
