How should your bits look post childbirth

TMI alert I am afraid: had my first baby 3 weeks ago, 7lb 1, graze and 1st degree tear, no stitches, toiletwise all in working order....but I am secretly afraid my bits aren't right as there's no 'hole' - there used to be a hole to aim at - now there's things there - is it all still swollen or have the sides of my fanjo collapsed in on themselves? Good god. Seriously don't want to have to ask a GP where my hole has gone. Please someone tell me this is ok.....

its possibly still just swollen. Attempting sex at 8 weeks post birth for me was not pleasant and took a few weeks after that to feel normal and unswollen again. I wouldnt worry too much and see whats its like in a couple of weeks. But dont be afraid to ask your doc! They see peoples bits all the time :)

Wll, after DD's birth I had oedema and half of my labia looked like a bull's bollock. Also had hemangioma and general swelling and lots of stitches.

I would leave it til the 6 week check up, I think. 3 weeks is still quite early.

Give it a couple of weeks. It could well still be swelling. I know your body was designed for it, but you did push a whole person out of quite a small hole, it does tend to cause a bit of swelling Grin

Mine looked like ground beef for several weeks after ds. I had lots of stitches and a nice haematoma, yes, rather like a bulls bollock down there. It wasn't pretty and it hurt a lot. After my second which was only a minimal graze internally, it looked normal ish within a week.

Puffy, swollen, red after a small 2nd degree tear with DS1. All back to normal after a week or so.
