Just above my scar line on my new baggy tummy bit I am wet ?!? Doesn't smell bad but getting on my big pants and is a bit odd. Midwife said I have cellulitus in the area and I did have a drain in whilst in hospital. Im ten days post section. Anyone had this ??

I had a wet bit, it was a small gap in the wound. Obviously I thought all my insides were about to fall out (cos I am such an optimist).

Went back to the hospital and they sorted it out in five minutes flat.

If you are worried love I'd see if either your GP can take a look, or (if permissable where you are) if the ward where you gave birth could have a gander. They're most likely to have seen all sort of c-sec scar issues and might be the best bet for a speedy resolution.

Thanks - what did they do..?!?

They cleaned out the bit that was a bit leaky and then just told me to keep a dressing on if I remember correctly.

It was an Italian hospital that refused to give any woman pain relief on principle but even in their hands it wasn't too horrible.

I felt a bit shaky afterthe cleaning but that was more from anticipation and panic than any real unpleasnatness.

And then it just cleared up. I do have a little bit of my now almost invisible scar that is still a bit obvious, but no biggie.

I wouldn't just leave it though love, there is risk that a minor problem can become a big one if it doesn't get attention, and you deserve peace of mind while dealing with all the other new baby stuff.

Get it looked at today please. Are you on antibiotics for the cellulitis? That's an infection in the skin and it should be treated.

Thanks -gp has seen it and told me to tape a sanitary towel to it
She's also taken a swab. Got some antibiotics too. Fingers crossed it clears !

I had this, and annoyingly it was still leaking at 5 weeks post section. My gp surgery gave me antibiotics and did the swab but they never worked for me. In the end, the only thing which stopped it and actually encouraged it to heal properly, was having Silver Nitrate wiped over the scar. It might be worth asking for this. I'm not going to lie, it stings, but so worth it.

Hope it gets better.

Yes to swabs and antibiotics if required. Sanitary towel to catch the fluid is good too, to keep you clean and to show the gp or MW. Fwiw I had this and was told it was excess fluid draining.
