TENS tips

I've hired a TENSE machine for my second labour (due in 3 wks).

Didn't use one first time around (only G&A) but think I might give it a go this time.

Anyone got any good advice/tips/tricks on how to use it effectively?

Nope, sorry, hated mine! I tried it before labour as I had really painful sciatica. It didn't help, just annoyed me!
Millions of other people rate them though so hopefully someone's more helpful than me. Grin

I am hoping I will be one of the people it works for! I have heard that though - it's a bit of a love or hate thing!!

I used one for both my labours. My tips would be.

  1. Make sure you are familiar with how it works before your labour starts.
  2. It useful to have a second set of the stick pad things just in case you need them.
  3. The earlier you put it on when the contractions start the better. Dont wait until they are stronger.
  4. I asked my husband to press the pulse buttons for contractions in my second labout as it was shorter and more intense.
