Pushing, Forceps, VBAC, pelvic floor - some questions...

I had one emergency section and one forceps assisted VBAC. The docs had to pull the baby out with a forceps because I did not manage to "push".

Now pregnant with DC3 and have a section booked for 38 weeks... because:

  1. I fear more injury to the vagina (last time it took more than a month to recover from the forceps :(
  2. I worry that I again won't manage to push. I have done no Kegels and cannot bring myself to "practise" breathing etc Sorry maybe i sound pathetic... i was so up for it with DC1 (did Hypnobirthing and the whole lot, only to arrive at hospital in the last moment at 10cms when they told me DC1 was breech... 30 mins later he was born via emergency section). Do you all practise these things?
  3. I do wonder whether the pelvic floor will be even more damaged by giving birth vaginally twice as opposed to only once? Were you the same after giving birth vaginally twice?

Of course I am wondering whether to try VBAC again... but not so sure, so if you have any input please let me know!

thanks

All births ARE different I too had the first an ELCS for breach, number two fine normal VBAC, number three rough and ready forceps all because his head was high and I could not push him down. I think took me longer to recover from the forceps than the c section

I am expecting number four and although scared about the thought of another forceps am trying to have a positive attitude as I know it could be completely different yet again. I do do my pelvic floor but few and far between. At 28 weeks maybe I should ramp it up. That is the only way to keep a healthy pelvic floor anyway regardless of childbirth, laborious though I know.
