Contractions almost stopped !

I was having regular contractions from about three yesterday afternoon. There were coming every 5 minutes and lasting about 40 seconds. As I am having a home birth the midwife came out to see me and said I was 1cm dialated. After, she left the contractions were fine but as the evening wore on they were only coming every 10 mins and lasting about 50 seconds. I managed to sleep - although with sine strange dreams. They are even less frequent now.
Any advice ? Please

It's not the same, but mine stopped frequently when being induced - baby was fine! If you have any concerns call your midwife or labour ward. Best of luck and congratulations soon to follow!

It's quite normal to have stop and start contractions, it may be that you pick up again later today or it doesn't start again for days or you have some time of stop-start contractions (days or even weeks is not unheard - my 3rd labour was 3 weeks from 1st contraction to baby being born but was fine). This is called latent or pro-dromal labour and works on effacing (thinning) the cervix but not really on dilating it. It's more common in later pgs rather than the 1st but it's not unheard of.

No advice as such, but mine started around 3 a.m., faded towards the afternoon, stopped completely and then started again at midnight and continued (DD was born 24 hours later). Similar time apart and length as yours. Also hb, but didn't call midwife out until they started again, as for some reason I had a feeling it would be a long one!

Based on my experience, I would call the mw again if nothing is happening by midday (or earlier if you are worried, of course).

Its happening to me. I had a sweep about 30 hours ago. Last night l had period like cramps and nothing during the day. Now l am having irregular ones 14-10-7-16-5 minute apart! Between 40-60 seconds. Very irregular but l feel the pain very much! Don't know what is really happening
