I was just wondering what it was like to give birth there. I'm hoping for a water birth but tbh... whatever's safest. I've had no problems at all with the antenatal services, but I wanted to know if there were any scary Dr's or Midwives and if they listen to you regarding pain relief- I have attended A&E in York and they were so appalling with pain relief delivery to the point that I would happily take a train to Leeds to attend A&E if I was in pain.

I gave birth to DD1 in York back in February. It was when we got all that snow so they were very short staffed, but I found them excellent. I was in for 3 days on the end and didn't have any problems with the staff, had a lovely midwife called Suzanne and a fantastic student accompanied her, the student went with me down to theatre as I had some complications after the birth. I would go there again for my next baby. I was offered drugs and pain relief on a regular basis- ended up with udong only gas n air (what i wanted) as Suzanne was so encouraging. Smile hth xx
