So I think I might be in labour?!

Hello, thinking I should try and sleep but not sure I can. Went to bed about 11 and woke up with slightly wet knickers (sorry) and period pain type feeling. Went for wee and needed to go to the loo too.
Now have consistent ache, so not really contraction type feeling, but I think is getting stronger.
This is baby number 2 but doesn't mean I feel anymore sure what's going on. I'm thinking that my waters are breaking but more in a leaking rather than fully type way? They didn't break last time until the pushing bit.
Should I just try and go back to sleep?
Am I further along than I think as the pain is more or less consistent? NCT friend had baby in 25 minutes second time makes me slightly nervous.....

Try and go back to sleep! (Assuming bags packed etc if you were to go into labour!). If it's labour you'll appreciate any rest you can get and if it's false/early labour then you'll also need rest for the next few days! (I think you can have the dull period ache for several days. Or not. You will wake up if not!)

Excited jumping about for you.

Thank you, trying to get sleepy again, but leaky sensation is slightly off putting! Is exciting, am sort of in denial about whole thing and had shopping that I was planning to get tomorrow....
DH asleep next to me and now I'm all a fidget x

When are you due?

Agree with BEatriceBean - rest as much as you can. Take a couple of paracetamol and get your head down.

Good luck - so exciting.

Littlemai · 07/08/2012 00:50

My due date is today, well as of 45 minutes ago! Was late with DS and had felt no signs today so had thought prob be a bit late again! Ooh I am a bit excited now so that's making the sleep thing bit tricky. Thanks for talking to me, will go find paracetamol and possible hang out in the bathroom for a bit....

Well....?

SarryB · 07/08/2012 09:48

Go back to sleep! And eat something if possible, you'll probably need the energy later.

EXCITING!!!

Good grief! Congratulations! What you described in your first post is exactly how I am feeling now (except the leaky waters bit I think). I started off with contractions 4am today for two hours which have stopped but a dull ache started a few hours ago and is getting strong. So I could be in labour proper? I hope so!

InmaculadaConcepcion · 07/08/2012 14:18

Congrats!! Smile

And go, go, go stclair!

Littlemai · 07/08/2012 14:28

Sounds like your turn next stclair! Good luck, I loved my bump but it is exciting to be able to bend again. Thanks again everyone now it's just the waiting game to see if we can get home tonight x

Congratulations on your baby boy! Keep well and get plenty of rest when you can. I bet your ds1 is very happy to finally meet his baby brother!

Littlemai · 08/08/2012 16:24

Thank you everyone, yes DS1 is very pleased but not sure how long the novelty of that will last! I had forgotten the delights of early poo, looking forward to milk coming in as well and baby getting some actual food x
