Anyone had a hospital birth after having a homebirth?

Hi
I had my first DC at home, fantastic experience, lovely midwifes, managed only on G&A. So all in all was v. pleased with it. BUT I was only 5 mins from the hospital so I was able to relax with this in mind.

I have since moved to 'the sticks' and the hospital is anything from 30-40 mins depending on traffic and I just do not want to risk the distance. Also my DM is going to stay with us to look after DC and I would NOT relax with her in the house and being in labour.

So I have made the decision to go to hospital. But I am quite anxious about it (like a first timer really :)). I am worried about: not knowing where to go, not knowing when to leave, not having 1-2-1 MW care like at the homebirth (my biggest concern), not being as relaxed.

So tell me your experiences if you have had a hospital birth after a homebirth. How was it? Was it better/worse that you thought it would be?

I am still going to book into a homebirth just in case I have a freak out and change my mind (though my lovely DM will NOT be pleased).

I had a planned c-section, obviously in hospital Grin following a homebirth. I was in bits about it but it was actually a really wonderful birth. However, I did still hire an independent midwife from the birth centre who came in with me and she was amazing.

I'm having a hospital birth, as I'm in Australia where you pay for home births! DS was born at home in the UK.
It is weird, I feel like a first time mum again! But I'm looking forward to getting a bit of rest afterwards!Grin
The main thing for me is "forgetting" what labour feels like so not knowing when to go in, but my mw has assured me I'll know!
Will let you know how it goes, I'm due today!

Ooooo, good luck shark let me know how it goes.
Glad I'm not the only one who feels like a first timer the second time
