Hello! I'm currently 3weeks post ELCS (2nd elcs) & have found the recovery sooo much better than 1st time round. In fact am really pleased I opted for section over VBAC as baby was back to back and huge, so chances are I would've had an Emergency section. So whilst I am happy with recovery & mobility there is one question that's niggling at me & so need advice from other mums please. Immediately above my scar line is still puffy and swollen looking. My stomach is going down daily (still got some way to lose the 2st I gained tho!) but this 'swelling' is still the same. Is this ever going to reduce or have I actually got the (dreaded) c-section 'shelf/overhang' that you hear about???? I really can't remember having this with my first. So anyone else have experience of this they can share???
Thanks!

Mine was the same (very puffy in fact) and has since disappeared to a single silvery railway track which isn't unsightly at all - I am very skinny though so don't know if that makes any difference. It took over a year to get like it is now - possibly longer - sya 80% better after a year and then gradually got less and less noticeable.

I don't think you should worry too much at three weeks - very early days.
