St Peters Hospital - what a great place to have a baby!

Hi all

I am new to this board, and actually not a mum at all, I'm a father to a baby girl of 2 days old!
I wanted to post on here to share our experience of St Peters Hospital in Chertsey. My partner had a labour of around 16 hours and during this time on the labour ward the guidance, support, care and advice was second to none. The midwives were all (we had 4 supporting us at various points) superb throughout and explained everything carefully and remained calm, reasurring and supportive throughout. I have very high standards when it come to hygiene, cleanliness and general 'customer service' and all were fantastic at the hospital. I will only ever recommend what I consider to be a top class hotel/product/service etc and for me St Peters labour and maternity falls into the top class bracket!
I'm sure I will be posting more on here as our daughter grows up, so hopefully talk to some of you soon.

An incredibly proud first time father.

Congratulations.

Personally I found the labour ward okay, sadly the Joan Booker ward is absolutely attrocious...

Perhaps it has recently improved...

Thank you all.
RandomMess - We found the Joan Booker ward to be very good like the labour ward. The staff were only too happy to help, regualry checked up on us during our over night stay, and were friendly and knowledgable, and they were at full capacity when we were in.
Interesting name by the way....

Glad to here that they have finally improved the Joan Booker ward - with Baby no.2 I discharged myself at 2am as it was THAT bad, no information about where and what time to collect breakfast, sheets didn't get changed until you asked regardless of what state they were, completely and utterly understaffed.

Subsequent dc I told them I was doing 6 hour discharge regardless of time of night Grin. I booked for homebirths because it was so bad the 1st time around but sadly never happened!
