Hi ..i am having a section next week if all goes to plan but i was wondering what the operating table is like
i went for a leg wax today and lying on my back on a hard surface...i screamed...my sacroiliac joint...right at the lower back gets out of alignment and when i lay on it today i thought i broke it...
just can only lie on soft beds and surface without pain
im afraid that if the operating table is anything like the massage bench at the parlour i may end up damaging my joint more especially under spinal when i can't feel anything...

any tips
if its a hard surface will they allow to put something softer under it ...
did anyone else have any issues...

I didn't lie on the table till after the anaesthetic went in so that wasn't an issue. The relief after DS was removed and feeling started to return was enormous but my one word of warning would be take it steady first day or two, you can still have pain killers in your system and with the pressure relief ( and natural elation) of baby being safe you can forget to protect your self. When I went to recovery I was on a bed propped at quite a high angle so not flat like on the op table.

Agree with ANT that you won't be put on the operating table until after you are anaesthetised, so you won't feel the pain.
Whether any damage will be caused is another matter - one would hope not but make sure all the staff are aware of your issues so that you don't get yanked around any more than is absolutely essential.
Have you mentioned this to your consultant?
Please come back and let us know what they say. Watching with interest as have similar problems.
