Hi
I am having a elcs this time round ....cuz of spd etc
but the baby is huge ...at 36 weeks measured 7.5 pounds and my skin on my tummy stretches so much it hurts and i can see hands and feet sticking out...
he feels a bit stuck in there now

my elcs is planned for 39 weeks so 2 more weeks to go ...i was wondering when baby measures so big ...do they bring the date forward...i get a bit worried as i feel baby much less now...could it be dangerous for the baby to be so big and still growing in there...

Hi Billy11.
I have had two biggish babies, at 9lbs 7oz and 10lbs 11oz. They are absolutely fine in there!
The measuring of babies seems to be very hit and miss. I was told both of mine were around 7/8 lbs. And went ten days overdue with both.
This baby is measuring big apparently-well was at 20 week scan. Am due in 3 weeks, and they have already said that they will not induce me before 40+10! Everyone feels stretched and as if there is "no more room" at the end, chances are it will come out at 7lbs!Grin

Good luck!

My #1 was supposed to be some big weight - lots of extra scans measuring. CS at 39+1 and he was 7lb 2oz!!

Then #2 measured small meaning lots of extra scans. CS at 39 weeks and she was 7lb 4oz!! So 2 oz bigger than her 'huge' brother.

Good luck.

Hi, I was told by my consultant that larger babies sometimes do not cope as well being delivered early as smaller babies do.

I measured 41 weeks at 36 weeks and had elcs at 39 weeks - my dd was 9lb 4oz

as long as baby is safe... i get to nap for another two weeks Grin
