Hello;-)
40 weeks plus two days now!! thought last weekend I was having some signs of starting but now everything seems to have calmed down again!! Hoping I go naturally however booked in for a sweep next week shich from what i gather is quite painful and uncomfortable. I hardly seem to even have dropped. Maybe this can happen and start quite quickly??

41+1 here! Failed sweep this morning (cervix too high!) this baby is never coming!!!Sad

poppyroses · 18/07/2012 17:29

Oh dear..;-( how was that experience?? So what is next for you...do you have induction day?? Goodness me... I feel like the last two weeks has been more like 5 ;-0 Trying all the usual natural remedies (within reason!) but guess this little babe will not be rushed!

To be honest it wasnt too bad. Midwife said straight away that it was too high so no point continuing. I've done everything, reflexology, curry, pineapple, raspberry leaf tea, nipple tweaking and sex. Nothing works its all bollox!
Really don't want to be induced so have consultant appointment on Friday to discuss monitoring. He/she must just be too comfortable!

poppyroses · 18/07/2012 17:39

Yep:-)) Same as that!! REALLY not keen on being induced either;-(( Yes too comfy for sure I reckon...Gonna try a big walk this eve and see if a bit of fresh air and power walking gives things a nudge along! U never know:-) Just dying to meet my litte person now...no idea if its boy or girl either, looking forward t the suprise ;-)

40 + 3 for me, never dreamt I'd feel this fed up waiting for baby! No idea if boy or girl either, just really want something to happen now instead of all this waiting around! Midwife appointment tomorrow for me but not entirely sure I want a sweep really. Keep telling myself baby will come when they're ready but the waiting is just rubbish!

poppyroses · 18/07/2012 19:46

I know.. The waiting driving me crazy too!! And too much time means too much time thinking of labour I reckon!! Mmm well u never know.. Tonight could be the night:-)) let's hope!

40+1 now, was due the 18th. Had mild contractions from 1:30pm-12:30am and then they stopped. DS woke me up about an hour ago, had a few more since then.

Sweep booked with midwife this morning at 10am, was really hoping I wouldn't be going! I had DS at 39+6 with an EMCS, going for a VBAC this time.

YankNCock · 19/07/2012 04:02

And my induction day is my sodding birthday! I will be well annoyed if it comes to that!

strawberryswing · 19/07/2012 08:37

41+1 for me! feels like it will never happen!

poppyroses · 19/07/2012 15:03

Any developments YanknCock??? Did you need the sweep after all? hi strawberry swing....have u had sweep or induction booked?

Ugh, 11 sodding hours of contractions, and they did bugger all according to the midwife. She could hardly reach my cervix (posterior), and couldn't get in for the sweep. Very sore now. Also my BP was higher than it's been and trace protein in urine.

So then later today I started feeling even more crap, went to day unit, protein is now 2+ but BP fine. Having a few contractions here and there, and confirmed by the monitor in the day unit so I know I'm not imagining it!

Have decided I'm sick of all this nonsense trying to coax the baby out. I have a consultant appointment booked for Tuesday, if he's not out by then I'm going to beg for an ELCS ASAP.

strawberryswing · 19/07/2012 22:51

Hi Poppyroses - induction is booked for Monday, though still feels so far away!

vicky228 · 19/07/2012 23:43

Hopefully some words of reassurance to those of you waiting - I got to 41+4 before going into labour, but it all started naturally in the end just before getting to my induction date. A sweep did nothing for me, but I can't say I found it remotely uncomfortable, let alone painful, so I did feel it was at least worth a try.

Good luck to you all, and try not to let the waiting get to you. Tis shit but the end result is so very special Smile

Readynow · 20/07/2012 06:01

I am now 40 + 11 & have my induction booked for tomorrow! I feel like I have been in limbo just waiting for sooo long now. Have had 2 sweeps & both times have been told that my cervix has started to soften but still nothing yet. I know he'll be worth the wait but still continuing to be very impatient. Was hoping to go into labour naturally but other than some irregular contractions Wednesday that just stopped after a while there is no sign Sad

poppyroses · 20/07/2012 08:43

Oh dear YNK, sounds like a hectic few days with no results.. Let's hope vicky's story rubs off on us all and things come about naturally.. Readynow n str swing too hope the weekend brings some developments:-). I never really thought about going overdue until my 38 week app and midwife said how common it was! A whole four weeks more to wait seems an eternity!! Grrrr

I am booked in for induction at 40 + 10 tomorrow as well! Pretty pissed off that things haven't happened naturally considering that this is dc4 but meh I'll deal with it. Had a sweep today, didn't hurt but cervix still too high and she couldn't get more than a finger in so not very effective. Still i lost some more of my show so not a total loss. Hope everyone else goes into labour soon.

YankNCock · 21/07/2012 09:16

Yesterday I cried on the phone to about 4 different people, trying to get in/speak to someone sooner than Tuesday to get this baby out of me. I can't stand it anymore. Nothing is happening.

I know I shouldn't be wimping out so much, I'm only 40+3 today, but I'm fucking miserable. SPD/PGP gotten very bad and can hardly walk, carpal tunnel, retaining water, hands/arms numb up to the shoulders, itching, can't sleep, etc etc etc

I KNOW I would feel better after a section, I can still remember the relief after my EMCS with DS. I just want to get on with my life and out of this holding pattern!

yahnyinlondon · 26/07/2012 09:30

Hope things have moved for others in this thread! I'm 40+3 today with first baby and still waiting :(

Lots of Braxton Hicks over the week or so and have had two bits of what looked like the plug come out, plus period like cramping the last few nights. Last night was a bit painful so I took some paracetamol so I could sleep. Wish things would just get moving, am seeing midwife tomorrow plus have a consultant appointment booked in for Tuesday.

Spiritedwolf · 26/07/2012 15:54

I'm 40 +1 with my first baby. I don't think he/she is in any hurry and I'm not too impatient (so far) as I expected to go a bit over as my date seemed a bit early for my cycle length. I have only really felt 'ready' in the last couple of days in terms of preparations anyway.

Some of the time I feel like I'm close, other times I really fear going so long that I'll need to be induced.

Signs so far: Stronger BH in the last couple of days, sharp pains when standing up, some back pain last night and some period pain yesterday and today.

Lack of signs: no actual contractions, no show, no waters.

I was hoping to have baby by the time the Olympics started, as I love watching the Olympics and intend to breastfeed, so thought I could spend the hours of coverage getting to grips with feeding. Although baby is likely to arrive before the end of the Olympics, I will probably miss quite a bit whilst in labour/hospital. Nevermind :)
