How were the baby blues for you second time round?

I remember being very weepy and hormonal for a few weeks after DD was born. I'm wondering what I will be like this time, as I don't really want to be in tears all the time this time as I obviously have DD to think about. I just wondered what other people's experiences had been - was it better or worse with your second child?

Much better for me - with DS1 I was in complete shock and was all over the place - eventually developed PND.

DS2 (10 weeks) was born on a Friday afternoon - following Monday afternoon/evening I was very wobbly and had a good cry ( situation was exacerbated by a HCP making me feel bad about the weight DS2 had lost) but apart from that and a few moments over the first few weeks I have felt fine.

3 days in I crumbled and was a jibbering mess with DC1...
with DC2 nothing at all! Didnt have the time! ;)

Almost non-existant!

I was thinking about this the other day (and DC2 was almost 4yrs ago).

No baby blues at all, at the time I was wondering when they would kick in and they never did. I took it much easier after DC2 though, barely got dressed for a couple of weeks, refused lots of visitors and generally allowed myself time to recover.

First time round I was very wobbly after about three days, and for a couple of weeks. I also found early motherhood pretty hard.

Second time around, nothing at all. I was on a total high for weeks after an amazing birth (first had been a bit traumatic) and no hint of hormonal teariness at all. I was on cloud 9.

I had them terribly with dc1. Couldn't function. Kept waiting for them to arrive with dc2 and they never did! Perhaps because it was a more straightforward birth or I knew to take it easier... Who knows!
