ELCS at Kingston Hospital - advice please

Hi, I had an emergency C-section at Kingston Hospital when DS1 was born 18 months ago and after having spent a lot of time reading up on pros & cons of VBAC, I tend towards asking for an ELCS. I am due to meet a midwife at K Hospital to discuss VBAC next week and am scared that they will try to convince me into having a VBAC. Does anyone know what their policy is regarding ELCS after a previous CS? Many thanks!

I don't know I'm afraid, but I had an amazing planned section at Kingston. Andrew Pooley was my consultant and he was absolutely fantastic. Good luck with the meeting.

You should be fine.
One of my friends just had her 2nd c section at Kingston, elective, and she had no trouble at all.
Good luck x

I had a previous emcs (not at kingston) and knew this time I wanted an elcs. I was sent to the 'vbac clinic' a kingston and was basically put under pressure to try a vbac, the Mw told me all the hideous things about a 2nd cs and all the amazing things about vbac. Biased much. Anyway, I then asked for a consultant appointment with Ms Wilcox, who granted my elcs request with no questions asked - and I had my daughter on 13th June :)

Many thanks for your responses! LittleMe-congratulations to your new addition!! Very happy to hear they gave in to giving you the elcs at the end! My appointment is tomorrow, so let's see what they have to say. Again thanks to you all!

Hi Sanne, how did you get on at your appointment at Kingston earlier this month? I have my first appointment there on Friday and after a long first labour which ended in an EMCS, I am desperate for an ELCS this time around. Be great to hear how it went. Thanks!
