What reasons do they offer a sweep?

jus wondering as I went over due with both my last pregnancies and was never offered a sweep? Only an induction :/ altho labour came on natrally in the end. Does it depend on your dr's or area etc if they offer one or not?

I was once offered it at 39 weeks for ds1 - doc actually said to me 'I see you're here for a sweep'. Errr no - never previously mentioned!

Mind you he was the one that at the same appointment missed my classic textbook symptoms of pre eclampsia - even when I asked him directly if it was AngryShock and told ne to come back a week later (luckily I have an aunt who is an obstetric whizz; happened to be speaking to her about something else and asked her about my symptoms as an after thought- I was admitted to her hospital an hour later. And she made the formal comment for me as it had a lot more force coming from her; let's just say I don't think he'll ever miss PE again!)

Good luck op - hope you don't have a long wait left!
