Hi everyone - I would like to know about your experience in trying to get an elective c section for second or third birth, after having had a previous c sections. I'm struggling here - I had an emergency c section after a long labour, and I am so traumatised about the experience that I don't want to go through labour again (I'm NOT too posh to push, i just had a really really difficult labour - no labour is easy but trust me, it was traumatic). I am not sure that I'll have the courage to get pregnant again because I am so scared of the birth. I just want to choose to have a planned c section. Has anyone had this experience and how did you manage? Thanks...

Bigbauble, personally, I think the risks of caesareans are exaggerated and the risks of vaginal births are skimmed right over. When I was having my second baby, I pretty much figure I alread had a scar, it already itched a bit, and I didn't really want to add a whole new set of symptoms from DS exiting down below. As it turns out, the recovery from the second was easier (arnica may have helped), my scar looks a better, and I don't need or want to experience a avaginal delivery. Can't really understand the attraction to be quite honest.

The only reason I would avoid caesarean is if I wanted to go on and have 6 more kids. But, I'm finished at two. So I saw no reason not to have a section.
