Hello

I am looking for a good consultant at the Lindo. I am looking for a dr who is patient with questions, open to vaginal deliveries (vs. c sections) and experienced. I have heard of the following and was wondering if anyone has had any experience with them.

Etienne Horner
Tariq Miskry
Guy Thorpe-Beeston
Raj Rai
Karl Murphy

thank you for your help

I don't have much to add but saw you had no replies so thought I would pass on what I have heard.
I have a friend who delivered with Mr Miskry at the Lindo. She was high risk and had to have a ELCS and all went very well under his care.
I also know someone some years ago who was very happy with Guy TB (this was at C&W).
I am sure you'd be in good hands with many. I really don't think you'll find a consultant who is not "open to vaginal delivery" unless there are medical reasons for them to advise otherwise. I've always had consultant care and straightforward deliveries and we have never discussed CS. good luck.

Hello. I am currently with Karl Murphy and due to deliver at the lindo wing in 4 weeks.

I would recommend him and the lindo wing has just opened after a refurbishment BUT there is no option of a Midwife led service there and there are no birthing pools. It is consultant led. The Portland has birthing pools and midwife led option.

Of course this doesn't mean that they or he don't favour vaginal deliveries over sections and because in the private sector labour is managed and the midwife care is one to one you are actually more likely to have a vaginal delivery (albeit it with Intervention).

Hi there. I am 6 months pregnant and with Tariq Miskry at the Lindo. He is really lovely and although he always seems to be running late for appointments (occupational hazard I guess, when babies can arrive at any time!) he never tries to rush the appointment and is very patient etc. I am also hoping for a vaginal delivery and he seems totally open to this.

I am going on a tour of the Lindo Wing in the next week or so, so can report back then (as LaughingLemons said, it only recently re-opened).

My friend had Guy TB and really likes him. In fact, I tried to book with him initially, but he was on holiday around my due date. Mr Miskry and Mr TB cover for each other, so that's why I ended up with Mr Miskry.

Feel free to PM me if you like.

I adore Vik Khullar who is at the Lindo. I've been treated by him for birth injuries and if there is a DC2 he will be delivering (ELCS - but that's because that's what I have to have). Patient, very very kind, very respectful, and excellent. Just thought I'd add him into the mix!

@cardamomginger i’m due to have repair surgery with Khullar. Did yours go ok?
