Anyone done Lazy Daisy birthing classes?

Just that really and would you recommend? When I was pregnant with my first I really wanted to do active labour classes but couldn't find anything in my area. Now I'm pregnant again I've found this franchise which seems to now cover almost the whole UK. Its very likely I'll have an ELCS for various reasons but they say it's still beneficial (although they would say that wouldn't they!) thanks

Hi, I did lazy daisy classes. I found them extremely beneficial. The classes really relaxed me and I felt much more confident about giving birth. It does have a strong focus on vaginal birth but I would say it would still be useful. The breathing techniques, relaxation and visualisation could still be used during a cs, and the movements to help with the position of baby could help a cs. If you think you might be interested why not ask if you could go for a taster class? I'm sure most instructors would be hppy to help. As I am not aware of any courses specifically for people having elcs I would say lazy daisy is probably one of the better classes.

I did it and was disappointed. It seemed that they touched on quite a few ideas that other teachers do without being very good at any of them - sort of Jack of all trades, master of none. I think you'd be better off with NCT if you want to make friends, HypnoBirthing if you want to chill out in your pregnancy (and you can use it for an ELCS too) or BabyCalm which prepares you for parenthood - they do classes both pre- and post- natally. BabyCalm is really cheap too.

Good luck whatever you decide.

Thanks for replying ladies, both sides of the coin there. Think I'll do a taster but will look at baby calm too. I'm not bothered about making friends (! Sound like a right bah humbug don't I!) and thought nct was hideously expensive but will have a look. Cheers
