continuing amoxycillin after iv anti b's

morning all whoop i am home with a baby! she is beautiful! during a very long ... Very long labour i had temp and was tachycardic etc and had iv anti biots now have amoxycillin to take for 6 days, if temp went two days ago and this is day 2 of tablets and have 6 days do i need to finish them? my delivery was a million miles away from the hypno water birt i planned, and so is taking meds, but dont want to do anything silly... Just get back to my hippy self! andy advice?

Yes - finish the course! Just because you temperature is gone it doesn't mean that the underlying infection is completely gone. And last thing you want is to get ill again. Any reason why you want to stop them? If you are having any side effects, then talk to your GP who might be able to help. Congratulations!

Thanks carda its just because i am a hipppy and use natural remedies really will tell myself its just mould and eat them then. Havent had ay drugs since i was a teenager taking all sorts!

Grin. Exactly! Most of the antibiotics are either mould or plant-derived. Can't get much greener or more natural than that Wink. You're quite right to treat these drugs with respect - but when you need them, you need them. Feel better and enjoy your lovely DD. And don't have any second thoughts about the mode of delivery and how it was different from what you'd intended and hoped for. You did what you needed to do to get your baby out safely - and that makes you a fab mother! XX
